2. Service Description

BagpipeJudge is an AI-powered bagpipe performance analysis service. Users upload or record audio of their bagpipe playing, and our system provides automated critique across multiple dimensions including pitch, intonation, ornamentation, timing, and musicality. The service is designed to supplement, not replace, instruction from qualified piping teachers and judges.

3. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Providing accurate and up-to-date account information
  • Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account

4. Subscription and Billing

  • Payments are processed securely through Stripe.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

5. Acceptable Use

When using BagpipeJudge, you agree not to:

  • Upload recordings of performances you do not have the right to share
  • Upload copyrighted recordings without appropriate rights or permissions
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
  • Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service
  • Share your account credentials with others or allow multiple users on a single account

6. Intellectual Property

  • Your recordings: you retain full ownership of all audio recordings you upload. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
  • Generated critiques: critiques are AI-generated content provided for your personal use. You may share or reference critiques, but they remain generated output of our service.
  • Our service: the BagpipeJudge name, logo, website design, and underlying technology are our intellectual property and may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

7. Disclaimers

Please note the following important disclaimers:

  • AI-generated critique is not a substitute for professional instruction from a qualified piping teacher or judge.
  • Scores and ratings are indicative and should not be treated as authoritative competition results.
  • The accuracy of analysis depends on recording quality, background noise, and other factors beyond our control.
  • The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BagpipeJudge and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.

10. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
